The “Bulgarian Society of Infectious Diseases” (BSID) is a voluntary organization uniting infectious disease specialists from Sofia and across the country, with the goal of fostering professional collaboration and the exchange of scientific expertise.

  1. Foundation

    BSID was founded in 2004 as the natural successor to the Sofia Society of Infectious Diseases.

  2. Re-registration

    Pursuant to Art. 45, para. 3 of the Non-Profit Legal Entities Act, on 13.08.2015 the Association “Bulgarian Society of Infectious Diseases” (BSID) was registered. Thus, BSID became a legal entity with all ensuing obligations and rights. The BSID Association remains a collective member of the Union of Bulgarian Medical Specialists (UBMS), for which an appropriate certificate has been issued (Chair of the UBMS Board Prof. Assen Gudev).
